STRING ART

String art or pin and thread art, is characterized by an arrangement of colored thread strung between points to form geometric patterns or representational designs. Thread, wire, or string is wound around a grid of nails hammered into a wooden board. Though straight lines are formed by the strings, the nails are arranged in such a manner , curves are formed.

I have made a string art of Anchor using brown woolen thread. My father helped me in hammering the nails onto the wooden board. I first drew the anchor on a white sheet of paper and placed it on the wooden board. Nails was hammered over the paper and then the paper was removed. To add more aesthetic to the art, I painted white and blue small fish on the board. To make it more realistic, I tied a rope over the anchor. Any pattern or name or image can be designed using the same method.
