POTRAITS
A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expressions are predominant, though in a full-length one the body will take up more space. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person.
It all begin with an ordinary pencil priced at 45 rupees. This was my first tool which I started using for drawing especially when beginning portraits. Later with the due development of my interests, I took it seriously and tried making skilled portraits and made it ready for sale. Out of the earnings of these sales, I levelled up to the branded equipment that one uses to make portraits, the pencils were now branded too. There are still a numerous number of equipment yet to be purchased which my ultimate motivation is to procure by the earnings of my portraits only.
I get numerous orders from various people ranging from friends, family, siblings, children, parents, cousins and even grandparents. These are really beautiful because it displays their affection to the significant person to whom the portrait is going to be dedicated for.
I also receive photos of people who are not alive presently and to recreate it and giving it to the client is really emotional. This is because, the portrait may bring not only the memories of them but also their appearance at times when you look. I also receive images which are artistic and aesthetic as well. I also receive a collection and compilation of pictures and photographs, which I take help of photoshop to arrange and compile, then proceed with my own hand-work.
Notably, There is a portrait of Pugazh, a celebrity and a common name among people's households. The comedian from Vijay TV is earned love from lot of people recently. I am a big fan of him as well and to prove the craze that I had, I sketched a portrait with my own hands, which was unexpectedly caught his attention and was mentioned by him in the social media platform of Instagram story, it was one of the happiest moments of my lifetime.
But, another instance which is my favorite memory is when I promised my uncle as early as when I was around 10 years old, to sketch a portrait of him. Recently, I made it! I gifted him with my own hands and seeing him happy and fulfilling my promise was the happiest thing when speaking about the days of my art work.
I also receive orders from various towns, cities and states. Numerous number of clients from other states have also received their orders of my portrait sketching through couriers. Few people would also prefer to maintain the confidentiality of the portrait and request me not to post anywhere in any social media. Yes it is a really hard task! Few times I earn dissatisfactions from the client side, few times I had cancellation orders as well. But still I keep my heads down, work on it! Work on myself! Work on the portraits and get better each and everyday than the previous one. This gives me a real sense of happiness and purpose to my life and I love doing portraits. I glow and grow through all these works which I would love to continue doing forever and ever..
